Genre Pie Reflection

During semester two, our teacher, Ms. H, gave us a new challenge... Genre Pie! To complete this challenge, we had to read eight just right books in different genres:

  1. Poetry: Technically It's Not My Fault
  2. Realistic Fiction: The Debutante
  3. Double Genre: Inkheart
  4. Classic: A Wrinkle in Time
  5. Non-Fiction: Project Seahorse
  6. Humor: Tales of the Brothers' Grimm and the Sisters Weird
  7. Free choice: Inkdeath
  8. Award Winning: Sahara Special
The advice I applied from Genre Pizza was to email my conferences. I emailed most of my conferences in Genre Pie.
From Genre Pizza, I found out that I like Historical Fiction, and from Genre Pie, I found out I like Humor!
My advice for projects like this is to quickly finish the challenge, and not procrastinate.

Informational Writing Celebration

The best thing about Informational Writing was I learned many different perspectives of how people see my writing, and I took in some feedback to guide me on what I should do next time.
Next time I will add a glossary and make my presentation more "interesting" and less "boring" as Emily said. I may also make an index.
I learned from my peers about New Zealand and how to swim (even though I know how to swim)! I also learned that some people don't know much about Greek Mythology, so I should make a glossary.
I ate a ridiculously small amount of popcorn because someone, (a.k.a. Jake) spit chewed up popcorn into my popcorn.

Genre Pizza

This semester our teacher set us a challenge to read eight different genres, in 14 weeks. The genres we had to read were:
I completed the challenge the day before the due date, and to celebrate we ate as much pizza as humanly possible. I ate 3 slices of pizza, and to measure up the unhealthiness, I ate a grape. The genre I enjoyed the most was Historical Fiction because I read an interesting book, and I like to compare and contrast my life, and the life in the 1800's.
The genre that I did not enjoy was Non-Fiction because I don't like how there aren't fun stories.
A genre I discovered I like is Mystery, because they are really intense, and interesting.

Next semester we are going to do Genre Pie, and my advice to myself is to send an email to Ms. H instead of a conference, because you may not have time to do a conference (by speaking).
